B&C AHA Cleansing Oil Review

September 26th, 2008

So!  I never used any makeup until a month ago.  Yes, I’m a newbie!  *confetti!*

And now I’m using makeup, of course I need something to take it off at the end of the day, yes?

I tried baby oil.  OH MY the greasiness.  I sweared I will never use anything that has the word “oil” in it for face cleaing.

Then I found B&C AHA Cleansing Oil.  With the raving reviews on sasa.com, I just have to give it a try.

It feels more like a gel, rather than oil. +++++1!

I painted a hand puppet!

Hand primed with Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer.  Face drawn with Fullaura super thin eyebrow pen, NYX Lime pearl eye shimmer, H2O blush, Body Shop lip tint.

Rub a little bit on, makeup started to melt.

… and then gone!

Rinsed with water.  Like new!  It takes off waterproof mascara no problem.

I have dry and sensitive skin.  While it doesn’t feel mositurizing, I don’t feel it’s drying.  Since it is not greasy, it is very easy to clean off with water.  And the apple scent is very refreshing!

You don’t need to use a lot.  But I find for a small bottle (145ml), $10 is quite expensive.  And while it does a good job cleaning out eye makeup, it stings my eyes a bit.

Overall, it’s a very good cleansing oil, but when this bottle is done, I’ll probably try something else because of the price.

Whoa, you used baby oil?! LMAO! I guess cleansing oil would be better for you since you’ve got dry skin! Heh, I just realized that both of us have the opposite skin types (I’m oily!)!

  2. Your hand puppet is absolutely precious and a brilliant way to display how this cleansing oil removes makeup effectively!

So glad you commented today and it is great to see your site!

    I’ve tried some cleansing oils:
    - Kose Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil – very good but not cheap (US$28)
    - Shiseido Perfect Oil – light and powerful. Best of all, it’s much more affordable
    - DHC Deep Cleansing Oil – heavier doesn’t smell as nice as Shiseido (see comparison here: http://www.lipglossiping.com/2009/08/06/dhc-deep-cleansing-oil-vs-shiseido-perfect-oil/)
