I’ve been curious about NYC’s multi-color palettes for a long time but I noticed they only had one really nice pink palette.  These 2 new ones definitely got me interested!  I’ll wait for the next NYC BOGOfree sale at Rite-Aid to get them.

Oooo, new lip care from Sally Hansen!  Judy/Bittenbefore, I will get you one if these turn out to be nice!

While I’m good to go with my Bare Escentuals brow powder, I like that these new Prestige brow palettes offer more than just 1-2 colors.  BTW, I saw taupe NYC brow kits on clearance at Rite-Aid.

The most interesting thing on this display are the pink lipglosses.  Why?  Because they supposedly will do what Smashbox’s O-Gloss will do!

Anyhow, it seemed the theme for this episode was to the extreme.  The “quick fire” challenge (LMAO! I just watched the season premiere of Top Chef tonite!) was to use stuff laid out on a table as makeup.  It was mostly fruits, spices and hehe, flowers.  Some people were really innovative in how they used the stuff, others just had no bloody clue what to do.

One guy completely forgot that curry powder is hot and if it gets near your eyes, IT BURNS!  The poor poor model’s eyes were tearing up so badly that the elaborate makeup design the guy did…just ran!  Oh well!  Another MUA was so clueless she did a bare face with the use of the spices.  The model’s face looked so bland…as if she hardly had any makeup! 

The winner of that challenge ended up being this crazy dude called Maxi who kept on saying how he’s worked on more music videos than anyone in the planet.  His work was definitely amazing but lose the ego, please!  Maxi got immunity.

The big challenge was to create a look for the singer Dani Minogue (Kylie’s sister).  She wanted a look for a video and the theme was something like disco on crack or whatnot.  The big sponsor for the show is Max Factor so yeah, they get the whole line to work with, esp the eyeshadows.

Boy, some of the looks were bad…really bad.  Even the hairstyles that went with them,…eek!  It was funny how some of the MUA didn’t even know what a disco look was since they were born way after the disco era.  Just like with fashion and hair, you really need to know your history!!! 

The one style that stuck out the most in my mind was Maxi.  He’s not my favorite (I haven’t formed any favorites yet) but he whipped out a stencil from his kit and used it to make this cool design.  He thought it looked too Indian princess but I thought it was gorgeous.  That’s a cool idea, using stencils like that!  Definitely need to keep that in mind if I need a look for a costume or halloween party!

I can’t remember who won!  Oops!  LOL!  Overall, I liked the show!  It’s on Tuesday nights so I can watch it before I watch my trashy Real Housewives of Atlanta!

Blush: The Search for the Next Great Make-up Artist

This should be an interesting show!  I’m definitely going to add it to my list of reality shows I watch!  Heh, most of them are on Bravo!

Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything I was dying to have other than a Sterlite countertop drawer for my bathroom that I got for $3.50 instead of $5+ everywhere else.

I decided to stop over at the Value City nearby because they had the actual regular store and not just the furniature store. There is only a furniture store in my area.

I was surprised to find that they had a Rite-Aid closeout at 75% off and OMG, they had Posh brushes! I was soooo happy to find they had the larger kabuki brush! It was the last one left! I quickly grabbed it and the last blush brush there. The Brush lab brush was also another one that was left so I grabbed it anyways since I didn’t have a fan brush.

I was just so damn excited to get that Posh kabuki brush for 75% off.  You don’t know how many times I came so close to getting one at Kmart at full price!  I think it’s $14.99 at Kmart!

They also had some NYX trio eye shadow palettes left so I snagged 2 for my makeup pasalubong (souvenir) box for my cousins in the Philippines:

The outside of the cases are a little dirty but the actual shadow palettes are untouch and pristine!  These were regular $4.99 so what a deal after 75% off!

I wish I had checked out Value City a month ago!  I would have been able to get a ton more brushes and shadows, I’m sure!

I saw this at Rite-Aid the other day when my mom made me go with her for a sweep of some stuff they had on clearance.  She wanted to buy and resell at work.

While she was hauling on the clearance aisle, I snuck over to the beauty aisles and saw this.  I haven’t seen anyone blog about it yet so I was surprised to see it.  Kinda neat how it’s an all-in-one case to make it easier to travel with.

Too bad I won’t buy it since I very rarely wear eyeshadows and blush!
