Watching Loewyn grow makes me sad! She’s growing too fast! Here she is with a balloon I got her as she’s so fascinated with them! Don’t worry, I unwond the string around her neck after I shot this. I didn’t notice till she ran off for her book at the end.
Just posting some pics of my nieces I took a couple of months ago!
When we went to Nashville last November, I took some shots of Nora while we were waiting for my mom and sister to finish shopping at World Market. Nora always has the most awesome OOTDs for a 4yr old!
The hat is mine that I got from Ebay during the summer.
I thought I had posted these pics already but I guess I haven’t! I took these pics of the little sisters for the Christmas card my sister sent out for 2012. My dad was in the background and asking them, “Who’s the winner?” It’s a family joke! When you are asked this, you raise both hands up in the air! Loewie looks so squishy chubby in this pic! I just want to squeeze her!
So hard to get them to stay still and look straight at the camera! One of them is always looking at their mommy who is trying to prompt them to smile.
Then they are complaining because the other is sitting too close or whatnot! I took a lot of pics but the sun was starting to go down and the girls were getting impatient.
Oh, here is a pic I took last week of Loewie’s new kicks! Retro!!! Steph got them on clearance from Target! Size 4 for toddlers! Loewie runs pretty fast in them,…which is a bad thing when she is acting like a bad thing!
That’s all for now!
So yeah, I didn’t get a lot for Christmas but that’s ok! Spending time with the family is what is important! Now, onto what my family gave me!
My sisters had asked me early in the season what I had planned on buying during Black Friday. The Roku HD was on my list, as well as a 32″ tv for my bedroom. Well, I got neither as I ended up buying DVDs and saving the money for when I went to Nashville to shop at Opry Mills Mall. This made it easier for my sisters to just get this for me. Now, I need to get the tv. LOL! Meanwhile, I’ll hook this up to our plasma tv in the living room as it’s easier access than the plasma in the tv room.
My brother knows I like “The Walking Dead” tv series so he thought this would be the perfect gift. He was dropping hints on Christmas Eve when he brought his presents over by saying that my gift from him, he wanted to keep for himself. LOL! Well, no wonder why! He’s just as much a big fan of the tv series as I am.
I was shocked at how heavy the gift was. When I opened it, I realized why! It’s the entire comic collection of The Walking Dead! Holy shit! Look at how thick just one volume is! I’m going to savor these 2 volumes slowly!
This is NOT a snuggie! I repeat, NOT A SNUGGIE! Haha! My mom gave this to me! Why? I have no idea! I’m the least cold person in the family. I LOVE cold weather so I’m not one to complain about it being cold. I guess she thought I could use this for when I take a nap when I get home after lunch every day.
Extra gift my sister Steph gave me. It’s a snood. Verrrry warm as I put it to good use the day after Christmas. It started snowing Christmas night and by next morning, we had blizzard conditions, I kid you not! There was an actual blizzard warning! We NEVER get those kind of warnings! I had to brush and scrap the snow/ice on my car and this really helped keep me warm and protect my head too!.
So, that’s all I got! Not much like I told you! But, I’m very happy with what I got!
Posting some pics of my nieces on Christmas Eve & Day!
Lately, I’ve noticed that Loewie likes to sing to herself a lot! Do we have a Taylor Swift in the making here? It’s not any particular song that she sings as I don’t recognize the tune but she definitely loves singing a lot while she’s been playing!
Look who came home with my parents from church! Nora went home with her parents but would come over soon. Loewie was eating a candy cane the priest gave her from the church Xmas tree. Sam almost got a lick from it!
Let the unwrapping begin! Ignore Loewie’s ugly shoes here! They are not what she originally wore with her dress! It was a joke we were trying to do on my youngest sister, Charlie. They were her shoes she wore at the age that Loewie is now (18 months).
The girls had lots of fun unwrapping gifts. In fact, we let them unwrap our own gifts since they were so eager. Next post shows the gifts I got!
I actually don’t have pics from the Thanksgiving feast this year! We had the feast at my sister Stephanie’s house as it was their first Thanksgiving in their new house after moving back to Memphis last Christmas. Steph has 2 ovens and a bigger kitchen so the family decided we’d all make a mess of her house this year.
I was planning on bringing my new camera to take pics but I forgot to put it in my purse (how can one forget to put a DSLR in a purse??). I also thought I’d have time to go back home to get it after I finished helping out with the cooking! Hell, I actually cooked a dish this year but did it at my sister’s house!
Anyhow, turns out we had waaaaay too much food as 2 turkeys were brought, plus a ham. Then there were bbq ribs, 2 sets of mashed potatoes, stuffing, roasted sprouts, cabbage cooked with bacon fat (!), roasted potatoes, mac-n-cheese, cambodian spring rolls with home made fish sauce, baked fish and green bean casserole. My brother in law also invited his family so that’s why there was something cambodian! Hah! We didn’t even bring filipino food!
By 8pm, my mom and me left the feast and went straight to Walmart! She was on the hunt for the “Brave” dvd movie. She had seen the animated movie and loved it so wanted to get to show to little Nora. I was torn between buying a 32″ tv or bunch of dvds on sale. I ended up getting dvds as a tv would have wiped out my Black Friday shopping budget. What I bought will be in a pic after I describe my shopping experience for the night.
It was insane in Walmart! No fights but good lord, it seemed like everyone and their grandmother was buying a tv! We got the dvds we wanted and headed to the front of the store to pay when I realized that the garden center was open. I told my mom, “Let’s check and see if there is a line there” as the lines at the registers were super long. We get to the garden center and HOLY SHIT, THE REGISTERS ARE OPEN AND NO ONE IS THERE!!!! I practically ran to the first register and paid for my dvds! Amazing! In and out of Walmart at opening within 20 minutes right after opening for the pre-Black Friday sale or whatever you want to call it!
After Walmart, my mom wanted to go to Kmart. Kmart wasn’t as croweded. The only thing that I wanted were a pair of leggings. Hell, I don’t know if they were part of the Black Friday sale but I wasn’t going to run the risk of not getting them on sale if they weren’t. Stood in line for 25 minutes. After I paid, my mom said she was too tired for Target. GEEZ. Dropped her off at home and headed to Target.
Target was worse than Walmart! I got to Target around 10:30pm. Finally got to the section where the $4-$6 dvds and eeek! Some titles were already gone! I grabbed what I could find and headed to the tv series section. Weird, I could have sworn some titles were also on sale but figured it was probably Best Buy’s fiyer I saw them in.
I stopped by the shoes and saw some sneaks on clearance for $10.97! Uh, SCORE!
I went to the front and found that the line actually snaked in and out of the aisles, starting at the food section! HOLY SHIT.
I quickly got in line and thought there is no way I’d make it to Ulta before it opened at midnight. It was already 11pm. The only good thing about being in that long ass line was that it was constantly moving. The longest we actually stood still was about,…2 minutes? Otherwise, we were always shuffling forward a couple of steps or so during the entire hour it took me to finally reach a register. All 20 registers were open. I was sandwiched between 2 carts that had 50″ tvs in them. LOL!
I thought I’d swing over to Best Buy and grab the other dvds as they had opened at 9pm. It was midnight and surely, there was no line in the front of the store. WRONG! The line wrapped around to the back of the building and appeared to not be moving! Good thing I just drove slowly past the building and not tried to park. I went ahead and headed to Ulta.
Ulta was confusing, at first. The parking lot was full and from outside, it almost seemed the store was empty! Where are all the shoppers? Upon entering, I noticed a line along the wall. I didn’t give it too much thought as I was in a hurry to see what door busters were left. I started grabbing as I went around the store and eventually put back stuff that I knew, I really didn’t need. In the end, what I really had wanted was the Urban Decay 3 pencil set. Only problem was I couldn’t find it! DAMMIT! SOLD OUT so fast! I got in line to pay for what I did decide on and nooooo, the line started in the back of the store and went up to the front!
*sigh* What I stood in line for:
This was just $9! Travel/Trial size.
I don’t need the full Urban Decay Naked palettes so I opted for this when I want to wear shadows. I would most likely wear neutrals anyhow. Can’t beat $12 either!
So, I stood in line for another 45 minutes for just that! I know, I’m crazy.
After I left Ulta, I decided I was going to go home. I felt deliriously tired. You know, just so tired you could collapse tired. I’m driving down the road and pass by Best Buy and tell myself, “DON’T LOOK” and of course, I look to see if there is still a line. THERE IS NO LINE! I immediately turn left and get over to the store. But between the time I had looked and actually parked the car, got out and walked to the entrance, there is a fucking line of about 20 people! Also, you have to walk around this barrier they put up to control the line and keep people from cutting into the line. ARGH! Then the line doesn’t move! They let out a certain number (we don’t know how many) before allowing more in. I ended up waiting another 20 minutes. The first 2 minutes, I’m all “I’m fucking leaving NOW!” but I look and see another 30 people come outta nowhere and stand behind me so the rest of the time I’m waiting, I am all “I’m not fucking leaving until I get those damn dvds!”
I finally get in the store and in a daze, I get over the dvd section and am all “Wait, what was I looking for???” Ha! True Blood Season 4! I want the dvd version, not Blu Ray but I can’t seem to find it! Along the way, I grabbed the complete season of Firefly for $7.99 and end up asking a sales associate to help me find True Blood. He gets it for me and I cross it off my list at $16.99! A STEAL!! That sucker goes back up in regular price to $54.99 on Saturday!
In the end, here is a pic of all the dvds I got that night:
I get home about 2:30am and I’m so tired, I can’t fall asleep! Ugh! Don’t you hate that? Eventually, I do fall asleep and I wake up the next morning (Black Friday) knowing I don’t have to rush about all day! In fact, I didn’t even leave the house! Just rested all day! Will definitely shop on Thanksgiving night next year if the stores open like that again!

I couldn’t stop laughing when I filmed this! Been trying to catch a video of Loewie falling asleep while eating! You’d think she’d always be wide awake when it comes to meal time but she was soooooo tired from modeling for mommy and me earlier this morning!
Steph said she’d always heard about Loewie falling asleep while eating at daycare but never got a chance to see it in action! After I shot this, I immediately took her outta the high chair and put her down on the sofa. She slept for 2.5 hours! For Loewie, that’s a looooooooooooong nap! She’s the type that sleeps for half and hour and she’s good to go! This was her morning and afternoon nap combined!
