Posted this video I shot on the 16th! Loewie will sing her ABCs if you ask her!
Over the past weekend, I took a day trip to Nashville with my mom and sisters. We took Loewyn with us as her dad took big sister Nora with him on a day filled with errands to run and playtime at her other grandma’s house.
Nashville is 4 hours away from Memphis by car so we left at 7:30am. Our destination was the Opry Mills Mall! It’s a huge outlet mall near the Opry Hotel. We hadn’t been to the mall in a few years so we were excited to spend a day shopping, despite toting around a 1yr. old in a stroller.
Towards the end of the shopping expedition, Steph asked me if we should get Loewie’s ears pierced. We all had talked about it in the past couple of months but she just hadn’t gotten around to doing it. Loewie’s doctor’s office doesn’t do ear piercing so it had to be at Claire’s. Since we were all at the mall together, Steph thought it would be a good idea to finally get it done.
There was a baby that got her ears pierced before Loewie and she was even younger so no “SHE’S TOO YOUNG” comments. Best to get them pierced while they are young as they won’t remember the experience. I remember the first time my ears got pierced as I was about 3 and my mom & aunt used friggin’ needles! I distinctly remember screaming bloody murder after the first one and hiding under the dining room table, kicking at them as they tried to get me to pierce the 2nd ear! So yeah, Loewie ain’t going to remember this experience but I definitely filmed it so she could see it in the future! LOL!
I only filmed the 1st ear getting pierced because I helped hold her head still for the piercing of the other ear. Besides, she’s not going to cry as loudly and hard as the 1st one getting done!
She was mad at her mommy for 15 minutes! We had to take her give her over to our mom who instantly comforted her the rest of the time. Mom didn’t stick around to see the piercing though you see her hovering in the background. She didn’t want to watch as she’d get upset. LOL!
Now, our precious Loewie is sporting 14k gold from her ears! Nora thinks she looks good with them on!

Yesterday was Loewyn’s baptism. My sister picked me to be Loewyn’s godmother as we are so close in birthday dates (she is June 20 and I’m June 24). As I had to stand with Loewyn’s parents, I couldn’t take pictures. I gave my new camera (more about that later!) to my brother to take pics. I have yet to look at those pics.
It’s my job to teach Loewyn, as the priest said, to be a good catholic since I am her godmother. I, in all honesty, am not a practicing catholic anymore and I really think of myself as agnostic. I look at my job as her godmother to teach her to be a good person, period. I want her to be open and honest and not close-minded to a lot of things that I find as a negative when it comes to the christian religion.
Anyhow, these pics are ones I took last month. My mom had complained that she didn’t have any new pics with the monster baby so these were 2 that came out beautifully!
Ever since my nieces moved to Memphis and have been staying with us since the end of December, I’ve done nothing but take pics of them! Here are the latest!
Loewyn has learned how to drink water out of the sippy cup. My sister is training her to do this so she can make the weaning off the bottle a lot easier. Loewy took to the sippy cup rather easily and really loves drinking ice cold water!
Meanwhile, I shot this pic of Nora a few minutes later! She’s wearing her mom’s shoes and pretending to be Mommy!
Loewyn learning to crawl at the time I shot this pics. I’d say this was 3 weeks ago. She had this little butt scoot thing going as she couldn’t quite figure out how to get her legs to move into a crawl. She had the right position, just not the mechanics then.
That was then,…
Now, she crawls like a pro!
I love how straight her posture is when she sits up! Loewyn posing for me!
My favorite pic of the bunch! So innocent and sweet here!
It’s just less than half an hour till it is official Christmas Day for me. No typical Christmas picture from me this year as I’ve been busy with a lot of various things going on. One big thing that has happened is that my sister Steph and her family have moved from Atlanta and back to Memphis. They officially moved back Friday, on Nora’s birthday (Dec. 23).
They are all going to be living with us for the next couple of months while they save some money and start to look to buy a new home nearby. Meanwhile, they are going to rent out and try to sell their home in Atlanta.
I look forward to seeing the girls (Nora and Loewyn) growing up now that they are living here. It is kinda nice to wake up in the morning and be greeted by a smiling infant all happy (due to her full belly of boobie milk) and a mischievous 3 year old!
Pictured above is a shot of Loewyn I took with my cell phone last night! She went to bed at 7pm but woke up around 9pm and wouldn’t go back to sleep right away. She wanted to plaaaaaay! All smiles and giggles! We had to wait till she wore herself out and started to rub her eyes! Bedtime again!
Shot this over Labor Day Weekend when Loewyn and Nora came over to visit us for 6 days!! It’s amazing how smiley Lowie is @ 5:30am every morning when her “tank is full”! She’s a very laid back baby that constantly smiles at you when you look at her! Who can resist a smiling baby, especially a 2 month old? Can you?
If you hear chattering in the background, that’s her older sister Nora just yakking away! Gods, she just won’t shut up! It was a constant stream of toddler talk during the entire stay!
